Joshua chapter 5v11-12 “And they ate of the produce of the land on the day of the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain on the very same day.

Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land, and the children of Israel no longer had manna but they ate the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.”

On the day the Israelites ate the produce of the land the manna from heaven ceased.

God had begun to provide for them in a new way so the manna was not needed to sustain them any longer. God had taken them to the place where they were no longer to depend on Him but had given them the responsibility to feed themselves.

It is time we stopped expecting the manna to fall from heaven and begin to rely on what Father God has given to us already. Father has been good to most of us and fed us for a long time it is time we sought the manna for ourselves. The manna was a gift from God to the children of Israel at the time of their need in the wilderness. During our wilderness times and our desert times God will provide for us but there comes a time when we must provide for ourselves. Even though God fed the Israelites during those times in the desert they still grumbled and complained. We too do the same thing. As we go through trials and immediately start to grumble and complain and forget about what God has already achieved in our lives.

Revelation chapter 2 v 17. “ To him who overcomes I will give them some of the hidden manna”

What is this hidden manna? Jesus is the Bread of Life!
He is the hidden manna of heaven. We find the hidden manna in the presence of Jesus, in the Word of God and by the revelation of Holy Spirit. If we do not take time to spend in fellowship with The Bread of Life (the Hidden Manna) then how can we expect to be free from hunger? As we seek Jesus then our hunger will be satisfied and we will have everything we need to take us through our desert experiences.

Sometimes we feel as though the presence of God has been removed from our lives, I believe that this happens so that we stop expecting God at these times God is asking us to seek for the hidden manna ourselves. I am not saying that God is withholding anything from us, He has already given us everything we need pertaining to life and godliness.

2 Peter 1v2-3 “Grace and peace be with you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ our LORD who has given us ALL things that pertain to life and godliness to the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”

ALL things which pertain to life are found in Jesus. Seek Jesus and you will have all those things which will produce life within you bringing life to your spirit, life to your body and life to your soul. Jesus is the fresh manna feed on Him and you will be satisfied.


The Word of God says that if you seek Him you will find Him if you search for him with all of your heart. How exciting to know that we have everything we need in Jesus to fulfill what Father wants for our lives.
It is time to find the meat and get off the milk. It is time to leave the stale manna behind in the wilderness. The Israelites were told to gather enough for each day. We should follow the same example as we search for the manna from heaven.


Father forgive us, we have depended on You to feed us as though we were little children. We are no longer children .We fix our eyes on You and the new manna from heaven which is found only in Jesus. We desire to gather fresh manna every day, and we choose to spend time every day with You and our Savior Jesus. We choose to wait upon You for fresh revelation. We come to worship You in a fresh way and focus only on your face. We believe that in Your presence we will find satisfaction for our hunger. Thank You that in You we have ALL things which pertain to life and godliness in Jesus’ Name
